Chad's Carolina Corn

I've really been lucky enough to dig into some DELICIOUS popcorn lately.  At the top of that list is definitely Chad's Carolina Corn.  Not only do I love it because it is made in my home state of North Carolina, but, it's so delicious!  And it comes in so many incredibly different flavors.

It comes in SO many flavors it hard to even think of them all the ones they sent me.  Chad's Carolina Corn was SO generous they sent me this huge box:

I couldn't believe how much they had sent me.   Not to mention how generous the large bags were.  They were full of huge fluffy kernels of corn.  Mmmm...

Notice that bag of "Pumpkin Pie" on top.  It was definitely my favorite.  But, as much as my mom loves pumpkin, I had to share and give her the rest.

These are her comments from some of the flavors she tried:

"Can't stop eating popcorn!  The Pumpkin Pie was unbelievable.  When I finished that bag, I started on the Kettle Edition.  Can't stop eating that long enough to type.  Opened the Salt and Vinegar, and it was excellent, but maybe not for breakfast unless that's all you have..I've been a popcorn fanatic all my life, and this is literally the best I've ever had.  This is gourmet popcorn to infinity!!!  Keep it coming.  Have to get off the computer and clean my keyboard..."

The Buffalo Bleu
(spicy with a hint of bleu cheese.  Hubby's fav)

Caramel Corn.  Big fluffy kernels coated with just the right amount of caramel.
One of my favs but just couldn't compete with the pumpkin.

Sorry the pics are so dark.  I'm not sure why they turned out this way.
Probably because I was in the closet eating the popcorn so I wouldn't have to share it with anyone else.

Dark and Chocolate, what else can be said?  Perfection in a bag.

Salt and Vinegar.  Not my favorite, but, I don't like the chips either.  My mom did like it a lot.  But she likes vinegar for some reason.

Jalapeno Cheddar.  Its added to their White Cheddar for an extra kick.

We also received their white cheddar which was delicious.  I keep saying everyone was on of my favs. but, the truth is, they were all great.

Chad calls himself the "Popcorn Czar" and I must admit it, he's right.  These are incredible flavors and topnotch kernels popped to perfection.  Chad's Popcorn is also packaged in paper bags that are save for the planet but also resealable to keep your popcorn perfect.  There are lots of great deals on their site to mix and match your favorite flavors or order some for Christmas gifts.

"The regular size bag contains 3/4 gallon (12 cups) of popped popcorn.  It's the perfect size to carry on the go and is packed to the gills with delicious Chad's Carolina Corn.
And now available is a cavernous bag holding 2 gallons (32 cups) of CCC goodness.  it will satisfy even the largest craving for Chad's Carolina Corn.  With this bag there is plenty of corn to share, though no one will blame you if you keep it all for yourself :)"

Chad is so nice he is going to do a 5 bag sampler to one lucky reader AND he is offering 5% off all orders if you use the code 'tiffany'.  So, leave a comment and let me know which flavor you would like to try.  If you are a follower you can leave two additional comments.  The winner will be drawn next Friday via Random.org.

Good Luck!

Dale and Thomas Popcorn Giveaway!

Dale and Thomas Popcorn has a special place in my heart (and my stomach). : )

They sent me over an awesome box of popcorn for Christmas!  It is their Sparkling Snowflake Six Bag Sampler.  It contains six bags of their wonderful flavors of popcorn.  My favorite is still the "twice as nice chocolate drizzle corn" with dark and white chocolate.  But, you also can't go wrong with the "chocolate and peanut butter drizzle corn".  Heck, even their plain "Dales caramel corn" is awesome.

It comes all nice and neat in this pretty Dale and Thomas gift box.

I couldn't wait to dig in to the six flavorful bags they sent me.  Of course I couldn't give it away.  Why would I do something crazy like that?

Their kernels are so fluffy and delicious.
And, there is a "best buy" date stamped on each bag.

The Today's Show calls Dale and Thomas Popcorn "The Rolls Royce of Popcorn".  Can't say I've ever ridden in a Rolls Royce but I have had plenty of popcorn in my life and I would definitely say theirs is excellent.  Three of you lucky readers will get a chance to try it out.  You will get the same Sparkling Snowflake Sampler!

Just leave me a comment stating which flavor popcorn you would like to try.  Leave two additional comments if you are a follower of the blog.  The winner will be chosen on Tuesday, Dec. 13th via Random.org.

You could give it away, (if you are a better person than I) or keep it to enjoy yourself!Good luck!

Chex Party Exchange instead of Cookies! Way more fun!

I had the opportunity to work with Chex Mix on a Chex Mix PARTY!  When anyone says PARTY to me I'm in!  Especially if it involves new recipes.  I took advantage (and so did some friends) of some of the awesome Chex Mix recipes on their website to come up with some DELICIOUS treats!

I know you will love these recipes as well as the ability to enter this incredible giveaway they are offering one lucky reader.  You can make all the recipes in less than 15 minutes yourself!!  The holidays are the perfect time to try out some of these deletable treats!

They are WAY easier than baking cookies, you don't even have to turn on the oven. And just as tasty (or even more so).  The best part is, you can change them up to suit your needs (i.e. gluten free, etc.).

I had a Chex Party at our office today and everyone loved it!  We had the PB& Chocolate Blast, the Original Chex Party Mix, the Hot Buttered Yum, and the Caramel Chocolate Drizzle.  They were all great.  I must admit, my favorite as well as I think everyone else's was the PB& Chocolate Blast.  There's just something about Peanut Butter and Chocolate that makes
everyone smile.

Chex was nice enough to send me 2 boxes of cereal as well as a 10 cute little red containers for guests to take home extra Chex mix.  They also included a $20 visa gift card so that I could purchase all the needed ingredients to create their wonderful recipes.

One lucky reader will get the same kit to enjoy a Chex Mix Party of their own.  Just leave a comment and you might get chosen.  Leave THREE if you are a follower of the blog.

Have fun!  And, enjoy the pictures from our Chex Mix Party!

Mike kicked back in the rocker eating some of the mixes while Fifi and Barb sit back on the couch.

Don't forget to leave three comments if you are a follower, or just go to Chex Mix and try out their great recipes.  They are easy and delicious!  I will draw a winner on Friday!

Stay tuned for more great giveaways.  There will be at least four more this week!

Easy Canvas is easy and a GREAT gift

I was so happy to finally get to try out Easy Canvas for our family portraits!I have been seeing their advertisements online online, Groupon, etc. But haven't had the photos or the opportunity to try them out.  Finally, this past month it all came together so that I could get a canvas or two of my own.

Although it was really hard to get my Diesel, our German Shepherd Dog talked into a photo shoot, I finally talked him into it.

I thought hubby would be the one who hesitated but he was great and, not nearly as hard to make presentable. After Thornhill Photography got ahold of us, we came out looking pretty good!  We now have some awesome looking canvas's!  I'm a happy to have family photos of myself, hubby and our furry son Diesel.  Especially since we almost lost him last year due to the hideous brown recluse bites.

Here's how they turned out:

This was our 12X18

This was our 16X20 (and my fav).  They look better in person.  They are shiny which is sort of hard to take a picture of.  At least when you lack in photography skills like me.

I just love them!  The photographs that Mike with Thornhill Photography took were awesome.  It was just what I wanted.  We have such beautiful mountains here and one of my good friends Grandmother was nice enough to let us use her front yard to take the photos.  And put up with our crazy mutt running around wanting to chase squirrels.

Thanks guys for your help in making my canvas's a great success!

And thanks Easy Canvas for the canvas's.  Check them out by clicking on the ad on my sidebar.  They are having some great deals.  And, I have a couple $10 off gift cards!   Leave a comment and i will draw the winners on Wednesday.

Leave two additional comments if you are a follower!

Halfpops Popcorn, a Revolutionary Product

hen I heard about Halfpops I just HAD to try them.  My mom and I have eaten countless bags of popcorn over my childhood, and still today.  We both always loved the little burnt kernels in the bottom of the bag.

When I saw Halfpops and read about their niche in the world of popcorn I knew instantly that I would love them.  I just didn't know how much!

Halfpops was kind enough to send me some samples of the 'butter and sea salt' as well as their 'aged cheddar' recipes.  I must say...it was love at first bite.  I am trying to NOT EAT every single kernel they sent me and "save" them (which isn't going very well).  I plan on ordering CASES of them for Christmas presents (and maybe a case or two for myself ; ) ).  They ARE that good.

I thought the aged cheddar is my favorite, but who knows, each time I eat a crunchy kernel, I its my favorite.  I love them all!

The aged cheddar individual packages

The butter and sea salt individual packages.

The kernels are crunchy and don't get stuck in between your teeth like regular popcorn.  A HUGE plus in my book!

They are made from 100% organic ingredients.  Gluten free, no high glucose corn syrup as well as zero grams trans fat with NO preservatives.   What more could you ask for??

The only sad thing is right now they only available in Seattle Washington.  So, sad folks such as myself who live across the country must order online.  But, there is good news!  Halfpops is offering my reader a $5 coupon code as well as FREE shipping of orders of $45 or more!  So, if you log on now and order from Halfpops, use the coupon code BREAKFAST WITH TIFFANY.  The code is good for one month so get to ordering.  I'm sure anyone with a love of popcorn would appreciate these babies for Christmas.

Take advantage of this delicious opportunity.  They are incredibly crunchy, flavorful little nuggets from Heaven.   I wish I had a lifetime supply of them.  I could munch on these anytime.

Chair/Step Stool Remodel

Sorry I've been such a slacker of blogger lately.  Busy at work doesn't really describe it but, that's the excuse I'll use.  After all, blogging doesn't pay the bills (come on your companies, you know you want on my sidebar ; ) ).

Anyway...I've been waiting to post about a chair remodel that Hubby and I did a few weeks ago.  I was so excited to find this chair in my grandma's barn.  I remember sitting on one just like it (except an avocado green) at my Great-Grandmother's house when i was tiny.  (yeah, I was one day).

Awesome Antique chair

Pull out foot rest to use as a step-stool
I began by brushing it with a wire brush and then using steel wool to remove as much of the rust as possible.  It was really rusty but otherwise in great shape.  Next, I used painters tape and white rustoleum spray-paint.

Still looked pretty rough.
After the white spray paint was dry, I taped over it with the painters tape and painted the remainder of the chair with black rustoleum spray paint.

Sorry for the blurriness, but as you can see it took a lot of blue tape.

Hubby helped remove all the blue tape. (Diesel as usual was there for moral support, or to get in the way.)

After all the painting was complete, the chair looked pretty good.

We bought some new rubber caps for the bottom of the chair.  The ones we removed were falling apart from dry rot.

Once they were attached to every leg we were finally finished with the chair/step stool.

I'm really happy with the results.  And, its handy!

Lots of product reviews and giveaways I want to post this week so keep on the lookout for some cool new products and tasty treats you might just be able to try yourself.  Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Oh Deer! It's Huntin' Season...

After coming home after a long day at work, hubby decided that we should go deer hunting.  I didn't really feel like it but agreed just to get out of the house and enjoy nature for a little bit.

We went to a stand on our property up behind our house.  It's bow season here in NC so I was a little nervous since I've never killed anything with my bow before and not had a lot of practice shooting it this year.

Hubby decided to hunt with me rather than separate so off we went.

It was just before dark when I see a deer coming out. I began to get that nervous feeling that only a deer hunter gets when they see the antlers coming through the trees.  It was getting so dark I thought I would surely miss.  I knew it was at least a six point buck but couldn't really tell from the distance.

Hubby kept telling me to shoot..shoot..

So.....

I hit it!

I always try to shoot them in the neck (I know..sounds cruel) but they die instantly.  People who shoot deer in the heart or where it is marked on targets, etc., they lie their and die slowly and quiver.  I've done it once and it broke my heart.  Hubby says I'm going to miss one day aiming for the neck because they turn their heads so fast (and I have missed a good one-once).  But, now we are restocking the freezer and I got the first deer of the season. : )

But, hubby had to stay out late in the cold and skin him.  Which took forever.  I also made him skin him so that I could have the head mounted if I wanted.
I takes longer to skin them this way (or field dress I suppose is the proper terminology).  But, he did it anyway.  Thanks honey! : )

He even turned out to be an 8-point rather than a six.

Needless to say, I was pretty stoked.  We have meat for the freezer (our freezer quit last week and we lost all the meat we had).  So he was much needed.   And, it turned out he was an older buck-which made me feel better.

One more picture for bragging rights then I'll announce the winner of the E.O. Products giveaway that I'm way late on...

Yeay me!  For you anti-hunters...well, if you can't say anything nice...you know...

Now for the winner...

Eddie, please contact me with your information so I can pass it along to E.O. Products and you can get your wonderful lotion and hand soap!
